If you going to cook this one what is the best dish you will have, a fried Rockfish or a One-dish Rockfish?

Henry Liebman, the fisherman who catches the Giant Fish believes that he got a big catch when the Shortraker Rockfish struck but he didn’t know it was a record-breaking catch. Liebman had no idea that it was a 40-pound Rockfish, and aside from its abnormal size the experts believe it was more than 200-year-old Rockfish.

The Daily Sitka Sentinel reported that a record-breaking rockfish was hauled near Sitka, Alaska last week. According to reports, it was a record-sized Shortraker Rockfish and may also be the oldest Rockfish man catches.

Liebman is an Insurance adjustor who always visits Sitka to charter fish but he has no idea that he will take home a catch for the ages.

Liebman’s statement:

“I knew it was abnormally big (but I) didn’t know it was a record until on the way back we looked in the Alaska guide book that was on the boat”.

Troy Tidingco, Sitka area manager for the state Department of Fish and Game, certified Liebman’s catch.

Meanwhile experts took sample of the Rockfish and sent to a lab in Juneau, where the actual age of giant fish will be determined.
